VIDEO: Why No Smile?

Many people have asked me “Why are you not smiling for your campaign photo on your signs, flyers and newspapers?”
The answer is really simple. I am serious and our people are in a literal life or death situation it was important to me that our community see an image of seriousness, no-nonsense, strength, about business, no time for play. If you would rather a person represent you who will smile and play while we are in pain and underserved, I’m not that guy. I smile amongst my friends and family, and with my community, elders and children not while we are facing such critical times and are in such dire need.
